When the phone rang, and the person on the other end of the line asked about designing a storage solution for their high-end garage, we knew this would be a fun project.

New Setup

A resident in California wanted to add on to their current garage set up, so they were in the process of shopping around for a new automotive solution. With a passion for cars, this customer wanted to ensure his setup would be able to store tools in a neat and organized manner while also having an aesthetic look to match his car.

This project started out with a request for two cabinets, and turned into a complete garage redesign. See how our e-commerce team at Industrial Shelving Systems helped this resident achieve his dream garage setup.

Solution

When this resident called ISS, he wanted to get a quote for two cabinets to add on to his current garage setup. The current storage solution included black and gray cabinets that held all their tools and accessories.

Once he got those quoted, he was interested in even more possibilities. While this resident started out by wanting a simple cabinet addition to his current system, he kept mentioning his “dream setup.”

Our e-commerce team took the time to talk with this resident about exactly what they wanted. We shared different Rousseau automotive accessory options, showed him the different color options he could get, and referred him to the Rousseau configurator to explain just how customized his setup could get.

This resident was looking for a high-end solution, and had some concern about layout and color. Our team mocked up several iterations of the 240” span available to ensure that this new setup would fit into the space. He also had a 60” TV that he was hoping to place in the middle of the run of wall mounted flipper door cabinets. Our team shared some Rousseau cabinet options for a better visual so that he could decide how he would like the upper cabinets, with the goal of keeping everything symmetrical. We wanted to ensure there would be enough space to get behind the TV to access ports, so we went back and forth on the amount of space they’d need.

Our team also shared several application photos from Rousseau, so that they could get a better idea of the shade of red they had picked out. Details were very important, so we made sure to share color samples at various angles to give a better representation of the gloss to matte ratio.

This resident ended up deciding to replace their entire cabinet system. They went with an avalanche blue Rousseau modular drawer system to match their car. These automotive parts storage drawers would hold all his current tools in an organized and easy to access manner. The TV would also fit perfectly in the middle with enough clear space to access ports.

After exploring some more customization options available from Rousseau, this resident inquired about stainless tops and ended up adding two 120” stainless tops to their order. We were able to work with Rousseau so that the add-ons wouldn’t affect the shipping speed of their order. This resident also added a few other features, like thumb latches for the drawers.

Results
            From a two-cabinet inquiry to a full-blown high-end garage setup, our e-commerce team was able to work with this resident to achieve their dream setup.  Now their tools, wrenches, and screw drivers can be neatly stored inside their new setup, creating an organized storage solution. This resident will be able to work on his car in an efficient and aesthetic garage.
