Unlike their other locations, this dealership was to be designed exclusively for truck delivery, creating unique needs and storage challenges that would require a customized approach.

This heavy-duty truck dealer group operates at a fast pace, so they needed a storage solution that could keep up with constant movement, quick turnarounds, and high-volume inventory. The final design would need to do more than just store parts; this heavy-duty shelving would need to support efficiency, organization, and accessibility. To accomplish this, the final truck storage setup would require the integration of several solutions together, including custom pallet racking, Rousseau cabinets with shelving, and Rousseau spider shelving to create a streamlined solution.

Solution

The first order of business for this heavy-duty truck dealer group was a thorough assessment of the storage needs for this new location. Our St. Louis automotive expert, Mike Croker worked closely with this truck group to evaluate their inventory, understand daily workflows, and identify key requirements. To address this, ISS designed custom pallet racks built to accommodate the dimensions and weight of the truck hoods. Each bay of pallet racking was made deep enough for the hoods, so technicians could extract them as needed. This approach maximized the space and created an organized system that supports the fast-paced workflow.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, this truck dealership needed an efficient way to organize and store small parts and tools. From metal hardware to miscellaneous boxes, these items are critical to daily operations but can quickly become disorganized without the right storage solution. To keep everything accessible and easy to manage, we needed to provide a solution that would keep organization at the forefront.

To meet this storage need, ISS designed and installed Rousseau drawers in shelving. These high-quality drawers open for 100% access, allowing technicians to quickly locate what they need. The Rousseau cabinets were fully customizable, allowing the dealer group to pick how many shelves and the sizes of these drawers that they wanted to best suit their workflow.

Above the drawer units, open shelving was incorporated to accommodate larger items such as bottles, boxes, and more. This combination of drawers and open shelving created a well-balanced system that maximizes organization and keeps essential parts within reach.

To pair next to the drawers in shelving, spider shelving was installed to serve as an organizer for incoming boxes and bulk items. With a constant flow of materials moving through the dealership, a flexible storage option was essential. The open design of this heavy-duty shelf storage allows technicians and workers to quickly spot what they need and take it off the shelf.

In addition to functionality, this truck dealer group wanted to maintain a cohesive look across their locations. To support this, the shelving system was finished in their signature red color, matching branding in other locations. This attention to detail gave this truck group the final touch they needed to bring a storage solution together that would perform at a high level while reinforcing a professional appearance.
