For this St. Louis general contractor, having employee inventory like phones, AirPods, tablets, and more was an investment, so it was important to ensure that access to these items was controlled. This company was in need of a solution to keep these assets protected while still allowing easy access to authorized personnel.

The challenge was finding a secure solution that could integrate into their warehouse layout without disrupting daily operations. They needed a solution that would be durable, secure, and customized to fit their existing space. That’s where ISS stepped in. By working closely with this general contractor, our team set out to design a custom wire mesh cage that would fit around racking to provide security and organization, supporting their long-term needs.

Solution

With many items moving in and out of storage, this customer needed a solution that would make inventory easy to track. To keep items organized and secure, Zach, an account manager at ISS suggested Rousseau mini rack. The open shelving design of this mini rack provides high visibility, allowing employees to quickly locate items needed. This will reduce time spent searching for specific items, streamlining their workflow.

Surrounding the Rousseau mini rack, ISS worked with WireCrafters to design a wire mesh cage tailored to the facility’s existing layout. Every warehouse and storage space is different, which is why wire mesh was great for this application as it can enclose any space without gaps or access points. The result of this wire mesh cage was a solution that will keep this inventory protected while maintaining visibility into the space.

To ensure security to this storage area, a keypad lock was installed on the wire mesh door. This controlled access space will require a 5-digit code for entry, ensuring only authorized personnel can enter the storage area. By combining this security system with the wire mesh cage, this company can have peace of mind without sacrificing accessibility.

In another area of the facility, ISS designed and installed a pallet racking system to accommodate larger inventory and bulk storage needs. While the Rousseau mini rack system is ideal for smaller devices, this customer also needed a solution capable of storing larger and heavier items. A warehouse pallet racking system provides the strength and capacity needed to support these materials while maximizing the available space.

To safeguard these items, another WireCrafters wire mesh cage was installed around the pallet racking area. This secure enclosure creates a controlled-access environment while maintaining organization. Access is restricted to this area with a key, ensuring only authorized personnel has access to this inventory.

To maintain quick and easy access to these items, a double-door opening was designed into this cage, allowing a larger opening to move heavier and larger items.

For some extra storage space, rivet rack was installed to hold bulky items and boxes. This extra racking would allow this company to keep miscellaneous items organized in their facility without compromising high visibility.

With the pallet racking and mini rack secured with a wire mesh cage along with some extra rivet racking, this storage solution balances organization, accessibility, and security. This customer has a dedicated space for small and large inventory, allowing them the confidence they need to know their assets will remain protected and readily available.

Results

With these new storage solutions in place, this St. Louis general contractor now has a secure and scalable storage solution that will protect their valuable assets. With the combination of Rousseau mini rack, pallet racking, wire mesh, and rivet rack, ISS designed dedicated storage areas for both smaller and larger employee inventory.
